RF-Design GmbH receives Unitary Patent and European Patent EP4016092 for RF power measurement module and rack

Lorsch/Germany, December 17, 2024 – RF-Design GmbH is pleased to announce that it was awarded the Unitary Patent and European Patent EP4016092 on November 19, 2024. This patent, owned by Ralf Mayr, recognizes the innovative development of several RF power measurement modules up to 70GHz with the associated rack.

The patented technology forms the basis for RF-Design’s PwrMxG series, a line of versatile broadband power meters ideal for monitoring RF power in satellite, cable and terrestrial applications.

With a frequency range of 50 MHz to 70 GHz (depending on module type: PwrM3G, PwrM8G, PwrM40G and PwrM70G), each with 2 inputs, up to 8 RF signals/paths can be monitored simultaneously in a compact 1U/19” rack.

Key features include:



  • High accuracy and wide dynamic range for precise RF power monitoring


  • Threshold monitoring and alarming for reliable fault detection


  • History recording of RF power values over a certain period of time with user-friendly display in the WebGUI


  • Offset and calibration functions for optimal adjustment to external components such as directional couplers


Thanks to the OLED display and keypads on the front, the PwrMxG series enables simple local configuration and RF monitoring. Remote configuration and monitoring via WebGUI or SNMP is also possible via the Ethernet interface on the rear panel.

The unitary patent is valid in 17 European countries, including Austria, Germany, France, Sweden and the UK. This recognition underlines RF-Design GmbH’s commitment to developing first-class technologies and at the same time strengthening the company’s innovative power at European level.
